“They may forget your name, but they will never forget how you made them feel.” -Maya Angelou

May is the month we celebrate our healthcare workers and it has always been a celebration close to our hearts here at PFP | The Family Security Plan®. This year, we invite you to say thank you to the special healthcare worker in your life.

Nurses are true heroes. While our policies help during very tough times, it is nurses who help get you better, calm your fears and hold your hand. We can’t thank them enough for all they do. Maybe it’s a nurse who was the first person to tell you, “it will be okay,” after a critical illness diagnosis. Or you had a nurse that knew all the right things to say as she fixed up your child’s broken arm after a fall. Or just maybe it was a nurse who held your hand as you said goodbye to a loved one. We all have a special nurse that provided extra comfort to us in a tough time or took extra special care of us while we or a loved one were ill. Thank them today.

Although nurses play such an important role, it’s also important to think about all of those in the healthcare system. This is why we also recognize National Hospital Week which directly follows Nurses Week each year. Celebrating National Hospital Weeks provides all of us with the opportunity to thank all of the special individuals who support the health and well-being of our communities. We recognize physicians, nurses, therapists, engineers, food service workers, volunteers, administrators and more for all of their contributions.

2020 has seen the worlds healthcare workers are on the front lines of a global battle, prioritizing the health of their patients over their personal needs. As a special thank you to all our healthcare workers stay at home, and read this quick article on ways we all can #SupportHealthcareHeroes.
