What can I expect after I purchase a policy?

Following your purchase, expect an email receipt from no-reply@familysecurityplan.com within 24-48 hours outlining your purchase.  Within 2-4 weeks, your policy will be mailed to you at the address provided at the time of the application.  2-3 weeks later, you will receive an insurance card with pertinent contact information for the insurance you purchased.

PFP | The Family Security Plan® will email you monthly with important information specifically for you.  Look for emails from @familysecurityplan.com to ensure you get this information.

Can I access my policy online?

We make it convenient for you to access your policy. Visit the online portal to view your policy information, make payments, file claims and more!

Can I make a payment by phone?

Yes! A payment can be made by Debit Card, Credit Card or Electronic Check with no additional transaction fees over the phone.

When calling, please have your policy number and/or SSN of the policyholder or insured available.

Payments can be made by the owner, the insured or the beneficiary of a policy only.

How do I change my beneficiary?

You can easily update your beneficiary by calling our insurance carriers. Please have the following ready: First name, last name, social security number or policy number of the beneficiary you would like to change.

How do I file a claim?

When calling, please have your policy number and/or SSN of the policyholder available.

How do I request a copy of my policy?

The policy is an important document that outlines your benefits in detail.  Your carrier keeps copies of all contracts on hand and can usually produce your policy fairly quickly when requested by phone. When calling, please have the following ready:  First name, last name, social security number or policy number of the policy you are requesting.

Please be advised that your carrier may charge a fee for a duplicate policy request.

Does my life insurance policy accumulate cash value?

Your Whole Life policy does accumulate cash value. Adult policies take approximately 3-5 years from the day the policy is taken out to begin accumulating cash value. Children’s polices take approximately 5-7 years to accumulate cash value.

Your Term Life policy does not accumulate cash value.

Can I take out a loan on the cash value of a Whole Life policy? Am I required to pay back the loan?

The cash value can be taken out as a loan on the policy for those unexpected times of need. Loans are not required to be paid back. However, the outstanding loan, plus interest, will be deducted from the death benefit of the policy if not paid back.
