The cash value can be taken out as a loan on the policy for those unexpected times of need. Loans are not required to be paid back. However, the outstanding loan, plus interest, will be deducted from the death benefit of the policy if not paid back.

To request a loan through the portal, you must register if you have not done so already. You will need your date of birth, the last 6 digits of your Social Security Number, and the policy number of the held policy.

Your Whole Life policy does accumulate cash value. Adult policies take approximately 3-5 years from the day the policy is taken out to begin accumulating cash value. Children’s polices take approximately 5-7 years to accumulate cash value.

Your Term Life policy does not accumulate cash value.
