The Family Security Plan® agents call members for yearly policy holder check-ins and sometimes we receive a gift – a rewarding coverage story that helped in a real time of need. We have put together some of our favorite heart-to-heart conversations to share, directly from phone calls that our agents have made.

Here is an uplifting story of when our agent Mary helped a member with his Disability Insurance Policy:

Mary called a member for a yearly member benefits discussion and found that the member had fallen on hard times. At the time of the call, he was homeless, and hadn’t been able to work for a year due to a diagnosis with diabetes. After hearing about the member’s inability to work due to an illness, and the member’s current policy, Mary knew that The Family Security Plan® could help.

With his disability income policy, he qualified for up to $1,900 dollars per month for up to 24 months since he had been out of work for more than 14 days because of a disability or illness. After discussing some of the ways in which he had to keep himself fed, Mary was really delighted to share the good news with the member.

Our yearly review calls are a great tool for both agents and policy holders to ensure personal information is up-to-date, the policy still fits the needs of the member, and it presents the member with any new benefits that they may have access to. The member was extremely grateful that he was put in touch with Mary that day since his disability income policy will help to get him back on his feet and change his life.

This is a great example of how a simple phone call can be so important!

We proactively reach out to our membership through outbound calling, email campaigns, and community outreach rather than waiting for members to come to us.
Industry data shows only 30% of loan origination comes from proactive channels. Where does your credit union stand? Insurance is 95% proactive: how proactive are you?

How is cross-selling measured? Is it consistent across the team, or dependent on a few top performers? Does everyone know the numbers, and are those numbers celebrated?

We have a systematic outbound engagement program that builds trust before the call, uses member data to personalize each conversation, and produces measurable results.
Is it truly systematic, or occasional and one-off? Do you warm up the call with personalized emails first? A program that runs occasionally produces occasional results.

We measure the critical metrics of our engagement program - loan conversions, cross-sell results, retention rates - and use that data to make real decisions.
Can you show the results of your engagement program right now in a report, not an estimate? A program without data is a program running on belief.
