JaVonda Ellison

Senior Insurance Sales Agent
JaVonda Ellison

JaVonda’s path into the insurance industry felt less like a career choice and more like a calling. As she puts it, “Insurance pursued me,” and once she entered the field, she quickly realized it aligned perfectly with her life’s purpose—helping people protect their futures through thoughtful risk management and the right insurance solutions. With 15 years of experience in the industry, JaVonda has built her career around educating and empowering clients so they can make informed decisions that protect themselves and the people they love most.

Since joining FSP in September 2024, JaVonda has continued to bring her broad expertise and client-focused approach to every interaction. Fully licensed across all major lines, she specializes in Auto, Home, Life, Health, and Umbrella insurance. Her wide-ranging knowledge allows her to look at the bigger picture and help clients build protection plans that fit every aspect of their lives.

For JaVonda, insurance is about more than coverage—it’s about creating stability, confidence, and peace of mind for individuals and families no matter what life may bring.

A Personal Connection
Originally from South Carolina and now living in Baltimore, JaVonda brings warmth, energy, and authenticity into both her personal and professional life. Family is incredibly important to her, and she proudly shares her role as aunt to 14 nieces and nephews. She also co-parents a chihuahua, who undoubtedly keeps life entertaining.

Outside of work, JaVonda enjoys spending time near the water—whether it’s the ocean, a lake, river, or pond—and finds peace in long walks and reading new books. A self-proclaimed bookworm, she is always looking to learn, grow, and expand her perspective. She is also active in her church community, which reflects her strong values and passion for serving others.

Why Work with JaVonda?
What sets JaVonda apart is her natural ability to connect with people. She believes she never meets a stranger because everyone feels like family to her. This genuine warmth allows clients to feel comfortable, understood, and supported from the very first conversation.

Her approach begins with building rapport and understanding what matters most to each client. By listening carefully and learning about their goals, concerns, and priorities, she helps guide them toward insurance solutions that truly fit their needs and lifestyle. JaVonda believes education is one of the most important parts of her role, and one of the greatest rewards of her work is helping people better understand how to protect themselves while being recognized for the value she provides.

One experience that especially stands out involved a mechanic she encouraged to consider accident coverage. Although he declined multiple times over the course of several months, JaVonda never gave up on educating him about the importance of protection. Eventually, he decided to move forward with the policy. Just four months later, a machine accident severely injured his hand and resulted in the loss of two fingers. Because he had the accident coverage in place, the policy helped cover several months of rent during his recovery. Moments like this remind JaVonda why she remains so passionate about helping clients prepare for the unexpected before it’s too late.

We proactively reach out to our membership through outbound calling, email campaigns, and community outreach rather than waiting for members to come to us.
Industry data shows only 30% of loan origination comes from proactive channels. Where does your credit union stand? Insurance is 95% proactive: how proactive are you?

We have a systematic outbound engagement program that builds trust before the call, uses member data to personalize each conversation, and produces measurable results.
Is it truly systematic, or occasional and one-off? Do you warm up the call with personalized emails first? A program that runs occasionally produces occasional results.

We measure the critical metrics of our engagement program - loan conversions, cross-sell results, retention rates - and use that data to make real decisions.
Can you show the results of your engagement program right now in a report, not an estimate? A program without data is a program running on belief.
