Carmen Malone

Carmen joined The Family Security Plan® in May 2014, marking the beginning of her insurance career. With more than 12 years of experience, she is a licensed Life and Health insurance professional across 23 jurisdictions. Carmen specializes in Life insurance and supplemental health solutions, including Disability, Accident, Hospitalization, and Critical Illness coverage. Her focus is helping individuals and families recognize potential financial vulnerabilities and find protection that fits their unique needs and circumstances.

Protecting Families with Care and Compassion

Carmen always knew she wanted a career where she could help people and make a meaningful difference in their lives. A close friend who worked as an insurance broker recognized that passion and encouraged her to explore the industry. Carmen took that advice and never looked back. What began as a new opportunity became a career that allows her to do what comes naturally—connect with people, understand what matters to them, and help protect the people and things they value most.

A Personal Connection

Originally from the Washington, D.C./Maryland metropolitan area, Carmen has deep roots in the DMV. Family means everything to her, and she feels incredibly fortunate to share close relationships with both of her parents, proudly describing herself as a daddy’s girl and her mother’s best friend. She also shares a special bond with her niece, who has many of the same interests, qualities, and personality traits.

Carmen was also the proud fur mom to Amber, her beloved companion of 19 years. Although Amber is no longer physically by her side, Carmen likes to think she is still watching over and protecting her from above.

Outside of work, Carmen enjoys traveling and experiencing new places and cultures, staying active, cooking and entertaining, caring for her plants, decorating, and taking on DIY projects. A creative at heart, she loves adding her own personal touch to the things she creates and bringing people together for memorable experiences. Carmen is also a proud alumna of Howard University and a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®, where the values of sisterhood, service, and meaningful community connections remain important parts of her life.

Why Work with Carmen?

Carmen has often been told that working with her feels more like talking to family than speaking with an insurance agent—and that’s exactly how she wants her clients to feel. She genuinely cares about the people she serves and takes the time to listen, understand their concerns, answer their questions, and make sure they are comfortable with the decisions they make. For Carmen, the relationship is never simply about making a sale. It’s about becoming someone her clients know they can call and trust.

Her approach is personal because she understands there is no one-size-fits-all solution when it comes to protecting a family. Carmen begins by learning about each client’s situation, priorities, concerns, and budget. From there, she explains the available options in a clear and approachable way. Her goal is for clients to understand not only what protection they have, but why they have it.

One experience that has stayed with Carmen involved a longtime client whom she had helped protect over the years. After securing her own coverage, the client also obtained protection for her spouse. Later, Carmen helped her explore options for protecting her father, who was in need of Life insurance. Together, they were able to put coverage in place for him.

Tragically, just two months later, only days before Father’s Day, her father passed away. While nothing could lessen the emotional impact of losing someone she loved, having coverage in place meant the family had one less financial burden to carry during an incredibly difficult time.

Experiences like this are why Carmen finds her career so meaningful. Insurance isn’t simply about a policy or a premium—it’s about helping families prepare for moments they hope will never come. Knowing that she helped someone take an important step before life unexpectedly changed continues to reinforce Carmen’s commitment to serving every client with compassion, care, and a genuine desire to protect what matters most.

We measure the critical metrics of our engagement program - loan conversions, cross-sell results, retention rates - and use that data to make real decisions.
