When budgets get tight it’s easy to start thinking about what you can cut first. For some, life insurance can be at the top of that list. It’s not a tangible item; you can’t see it and you probably don’t think about it daily. Before you cut the cord, think about these things first.
It’s cheaper now that it will be later
That’s right; life insurance, unfortunately, gets more expensive as we age. Life insurance rates are based on your age at the time of purchase. Canceling your policy now could cost you. If you decide in the next few years that you would like to purchase a policy again, your premium will be higher. Think you are too young to buy life insurance now? Wrong! There couldn’t be a better time!
If you have term insurance it won’t last
Term insurance is just that, term. Unlike whole life insurance, term insurance protects you for only a specified period of time. If you have term coverage through your employer, it usually ends if you switch jobs. The benefits can greatly decrease of terminate at retirement.
Sometimes our most valuable necessities aren’t things
Car insurance, home owners insurance, renters insurance, health insurance and life insurance…none of these “things” are things. But without them we can get ourselves in a real jam! If the unexpected were to happen, your life insurance can protect your family’s financial future. There is nothing more valuable than that.
