Chamar Smith

With two years of experience in the insurance industry, Chamar joined FSP in April 2026. Licensed in Life and Health insurance, she specializes in helping members find life and health protection that aligns with their individual needs. She approaches every conversation as an opportunity to educate, empower, and help families prepare for the unexpected.

Protecting Families with Care and Compassion
Chamar’s passion for helping people is what inspired her to pursue a career in insurance. She values being a trusted and resourceful point of contact—someone individuals and families can turn to for guidance as they navigate important financial decisions. For Chamar, helping members understand their options and protect what matters most is an opportunity to make a meaningful difference while helping families build more secure futures.

A Personal Connection
Born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland, Chamar continues to call Baltimore home. She is a proud mother to an elementary-school-aged daughter, and some of her favorite moments are spent enjoying “girly pampering” days together and creating memories as a family.

Outside of work, Chamar enjoys meeting new people, trying new experiences, and spending quality time with those around her. She also loves to sing—especially karaoke. While she jokes that most of her performances happen in the shower, she confidently says that when karaoke night arrives, you’ll definitely want her on your team. Chamar also participates in community activities whenever her schedule allows, reflecting the same passion for connecting with and supporting others that she brings to her work.

Why Work with Chamar?
For Chamar, insurance has always been personal. Growing up with a mother who worked as an insurance agent introduced her to the importance of financial protection at an early age. Later, the loss of a sibling she grew up alongside gave her an even deeper understanding of what that protection can mean for a family. The experience reinforced her belief that insurance isn’t only about preparing for the end of life—it can also provide vital financial support when families encounter unexpected challenges along the way.

That perspective shapes how Chamar works with every member. She begins by getting to know the person behind the policy—learning what matters most to them, understanding their concerns, and then showing how available insurance solutions can address those specific needs. Her goal isn’t simply to provide coverage, but to ensure members understand their options and feel empowered to make informed decisions about their financial futures.

One experience especially illustrates why Chamar is so passionate about her work. She helped a member secure a $100,000 critical illness policy—coverage he initially never expected to need. Later, he suffered a stroke. When he returned home from the hospital, the policy provided a $100,000 lump-sum benefit that gave him the financial flexibility to take several months away from work and focus on his recovery. During that time, he was even able to marry his longtime fiancée.

For Chamar, stories like this are what make her career so rewarding. Insurance is more than having a policy in place—it can provide peace of mind, financial security, and the freedom to focus on what matters most when life takes an unexpected turn. Helping families understand and access that protection isn’t simply Chamar’s profession; it’s personal to her, and it’s a purpose she brings to every member she serves.
